The Iowa Equine Rescue & Awareness League is an established non-profit, hooved animal/equine care provider for all 99 counties for the state of Iowa. Currently, IERAL is monitoring 712 equines in 34 counties, this number grows DAILY. We work with all sheriff's departments and veterinarians to assist them when livestock is being neglected or abused. IERAL would like your support to help educate and bring awareness to the public about the growing problem of livestock/equine abuse and neglect. Also, IERAL will be available to help during any natural disaster or emergency situation that may arise.

IERAL’s goals are many. One main goal is to offer resources and education to equine owners in need of help. We hope this task will decrease costs to counties and help cut down on equine rescues as well. Education and communication is needed in order to help prevent neglect and abuse, and IERAL would like to offer our help.

Meet "SUNNY"! He is an older pony who needs to have his left eye removed soon. All shots, worming, feet, and teeth have been completed. Please keep checking for details on his progress...

Mae our special needs horse! Completely blind, but is doing well with her site horse companion, Granny. IERAL needs to raise funds to help pay for the surgery that was needed for Mae..We had to extract one of her eyes, because it was causing so much pain.. Please donate today, the cost was discounted by our veterinarian, however we still need to raise funds to cover the surgery.
